WALL, TX — Former Wall Hawks kicker Pierce Jameson returned to San Angelo for the summer to reinvest in the Wall Hawks football program. A current student at Texas A&M University, Jameson is back to offer kicking lessons to any would-be kickers for the Hawks in the future.
Jameson began this tradition last summer after he graduated. Wall’s former ace says it is essential to offer these types of lessons to kids around the community. San Angelo LIVE!’s Ryan Chadwick interviewed Jameson after one of his lessons on Wednesday. Watch that interview below:
“I want to pour back into the Wall Hawk community, Jameson said on Wednesday. “I’m trying to raise the next generation of kickers. I had to get a lot of help from outside people, so coming back and teaching kids how to do it correctly so we can see some future champions.”
Special teams are sometimes a forgotten art at some smaller schools, but they are no less important. In Jameson’s senior season at Wall, the Hawks won two games on field goals. The most memorable one was the matchup against state-ranked Jim Ned, where the only points scored in the contest were from Jameson himself.
Jameson offers training in all aspects of kicking, including field goal, place kicking, punting, and kickoffs. Depending on the person’s age Pierce will begin with the fundamentals—kicking form on punts and field goals. He’s taken all the lessons he learned through the years from outside coaches and specialists and brings it to the kids who take his classes.
Pierce offers lessons to all ages in one-hour block sessions for $35 an hour until the end of July. He teaches these kicking classes on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Jameson says that he can be reached at 325-276-7263 or on his email at [email protected]. He also can be found on Instagram and Facebook.
