SAN ANTONIO, TX— The Concho Valley still has athletes competing in the UIL State Tennis Tournament.
While the tournament has been delayed until tomorrow due to the weather, the Concho Valley still has athletes competing.

The next update though is that Brayden and Brenner Sherwood from Robert Lee beat Greyson Peet and Bryson Shuck from Groom in the Semifinals round at the UIL State Tennis Tournament and will play in the Finals tomorrow against another set of brothers, Luke and Lawson Leavelle of Utopia at 11:00 a.m. tomorrow, May 17, 2024.
Veribest's Emily Scott will also compete in the 1A Finals against either Runge's Melina Ramirez or Samantha Griffin from Lenorah Grady.
The Irion County Lady Hornets are getting it stung (done) in San Antonio as Melanie and Baylee Rainey are currently also in the rain delay in a match against a set of sisters from Knippa in Madison and McKenzie Speer.
Menard's Wyatt Terrell had a great season and was beat in the Quarterfinals Round by Chaopman Sims from Lenorah Grady.
At the 2A level, the Concho Valley and two athletes matchup in the Quarterfinals in Mason Hatfield from Mason and Reagan County's Levi Knight. Hatfield won the match and is facing San Augustine's Brittan Nance in the Semifinals.
Miles Bulldog Delan Syler beat Thrall's Payton Gillmore in the opening round and is squaring off against Albany's Luke Marshall in the Semifinals.
Mason Puncher team Keegan Ratliff and Colton Schmidt beat the Centerville team and will play Hawley's Pantanpantan Brothers, Benedict and Francis. The other Mason Boys Double team of Kelton Jordan and Cade Dudley won their Quarterfinal match and matchup next Quanah's Dwight and Ahlai DonJuan.
The Mason Girls Double team Jakelin Zermeno and Scout Magnus are playing Crawford's Grayson Allison and Mabreigh Cohrs.
Mixed Mason Double teams, Cooper Ratliff and Taylor Bierschwale matchup against Bremond's Sadie Kasowski and Carson Crowley. Lucy Rochat and Jake Gillespie face Reagan County's Ashley Lopez and Colton Kuykendall.
Rowdy Ferguson and Jaydn Parrish were beaten in the Quarterfinal Round to Bremond's Mixed Double Team. Emma McCrea and Heidi Smith from Mason also lost in the first round to Wink's Delaney Dodd-Fernandes and Lailah Solis.
In 2A Girls Singles, Christoval's Zoe Askins got third place at State after losing to Reagan Maxson from Normangee. Mason's Landry Lawler was beaten by Aubrey Carroll from Crawford. Carroll and Maxson are playing in the Finals.
To 3A, Wall's Joseph Malone faces off against Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill's Braden Buchanan. Katelynn Holtomann with the Lady Hawks is squaring off against Corpus Christi London's Kailey Albrecht. Wall's Mixed Double Team of the Hirt siblings, Kymbree and Bryson are matched up in the Semifinals against the Kings, Johnae and Kaydn, from Grosbeck.
Avery Jameson and Andie McCastland lost in the Quarterfinals to Franklin's Ayla Wolf and Bryn Porchazke.
