SAN ANTONIO— The UIL State Tennis Tournament is currently being played and athletes from the Concho Valley have advanced!
As of 10:20 a.m., Emily Scott of Veribest has won her matchup in the Quarterfinals against Anna Hagler of Martinsville. Scott will play again in the Semifinal against Daylee Chisum of Jayton at 2:00 p.m.
Also advancing to the Semifinals is Mason’s Mason Hatfield over Reagan County’s Leevi Knight. Hatfield will play San Augustine’s Brittan Nance at 4:00 p.m.
Delane Syler of Miles beat Payton Gillmore of Thrall in the Quarterfinals and will play Albany’s Luke Marshall at 4:00 p.m.
Christoval’s Zoe Askins also won her Quarterfinals match against Muenster’s Macy Bayer. Askins is set to face off against Normangee’s Reagan Maxson.
11:00 A.M. UPDATE
The Mason Girls Team of Jakelin Zermeno and Scout Magnus have won their Quarterfinals matchup against Forsan's Morgan Miller and Hannah Stoll. Magnus and Zermeno will play either Crawford's Grayson Allison and Mabreigh Cohrs or Hawley's Aubrie Fraizer and Kyle Cory.
11:30 a.m. UPDATE
Irion County's Melanie and Baylee Rainey beat Madison and Kate Brockman of Nazareth in their Quarterfinals matchup. The Rainey Sisters will play Kyler Dunn and Taylor Patrick of Saint Jo or Knippa's team of McKenzie and Madison Speer.
12:50 p.m. UPDATE
Wall's Joseph Malone and Katelynn Holtmann both won their Quarterfinal matchups against Jaron Page of Central Heights and Fiona Rolland of White Oak respectively.
Mason's Jakelin Zermeno and Scout Magnus will play Crawford's team of Grayson Allison and Mabreigh Cohrs in the Semifinals.
2:00 p.m. UPDATE
Brenner and Brayden Sherwood of Robert Lee won their Quarterfinals match against Wyatt Rothe and Brady Herndon of D'Hanis and will play Greyson Peet and Bryson Shuck from Groom.
Mason's Keegan Ratliff and Carlton Schmidt beat the Centerville team and will match up with Hawley's Benedict and Francis Patanpantan in the Semifinals. Mason's other team of Kelton Jordan and Cade Dudley will play their Semifinal match against Dwight and Ahlai Donjon from Quanah.
Wall Hawk Joseph Malone matches up with Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill's Braden Buchanan in the Semifinal round while Lady Hawk Katelynn Holtmann plays Kailey Albrecht from Corpus Christi London.
4:20 p.m. UPDATE
Veribest's Emily Scott is moving on to the Finals over Jayton's Daylee Chisum.
Bryson and Kimbree Hirt from Wall are also moving on to the Semifinals.
