Wall Hawks Rival Jim Ned Head Coach Resigns

 

TUSCOLA, TEXAS— The head coach of Wall ISD high school football rival Jim Ned has resigned.

Jim Ned Head Coach Matt Fanning has stepped down as the coach of the Indians to become the tight end coach at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene. Fanning led the Indians the past six season and won Jim Ned a state championship in 2020.

Fanning has taken the Indians to the playoffs every year he was head coach and also won 58 games in that time.

Under the new realignment of the districts, Jim Ned is slated to play TLCA San Angelo in football this season after they moved up to 3A-D1. The Indians have also played the Wall Hawks over the years, splitting wins and losses over the last two years.
