ARLINGTON, TX — The Big 12 Conference kicked off its 2023 Media Days on Wednesday, July 12. All the head football coaches and notable players from across the Big 12 gathered together at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington to discuss the upcoming 2023 Football season.
After seven head coaches from various Big 12 teams had their turn at the podium on Day 1, the media had the opportunity to interview some of the best players on those teams. San Angelo LIVE!’s Ryan Chadwick had the chance to speak with Brandon Coleman from TCU. Coleman is an integral part of the Horned Frog’s offensive line that made it to the National Championship game against the Georgia Bulldogs last season.
The Horned Frogs lost the National Championship to Georgia 65-7, but TCU still finished the year with one of the nation’s best offenses in college football. The 6’6”, 325-lb Senior anchors 2023’s offensive line that still represents one of the strongest lines in the country. Coach Dykes mentioned in his press conference that TCU has to leave the past behind them and return to flying under the radar. He thinks the Horned Frogs will look different but will be just as dangerous on the offensive side of the ball.
Coleman agrees. “Obviously, with the new offensive coordinator coming in there will be a change to our offense, but our mentality and our motto of being the fastest and strongest team on the field is not going to change,” Coleman said. “Our scheme [might be different], obviously, but our personality and mentality is the exact same as last season.”

The Horned Frogs bring in a new offensive coordinator in 2023. TCU brought in Kendal Briles in January to replace Garrett Riley. Briles, who was offensive coordinator at Baylor University under his father and head coach Art Briles, brings a new look with him to TCU. Just a season ago, Briles helped lead Arkansas to one of the nation's best rushing attacks and finished with the 15th-best offense in the country.
Briles has all the pressure on him next season as the Horned Frogs look to replicate what they accomplished as a team a season ago. However, Coleman thinks they will be just fine.
