DENVER, CO- Big news coming from the National Football League as a major trade has gone down and a big-time player has resigned with his team.
The Denver Broncos have reached an agreement with the Seattle Seahawks to trade for quarterback Russell Wilson. The compensation is huge for both teams as the Broncos get Russell Wilson and a 4th round pick and the Seahawks will get 2 first round picks, 2 second round picks, a fifth-round pick, quarterback Drew Lock, tight end Noah Fant, and defensive end Shelby Harris.
Both Noah Fant and Drew Lock were 1st and 2nd round picks respectively in the 2019 NFL Draft. This trade will give the Seahawks 5 picks in the first 64 picks in the upcoming NFL Draft.
Wilson, 33, did have a no-trade clause in his contract but waived it for Denver.
Denver wasn’t the only team to make a deal with a quarterback today as Aaron Rodgers signed a contract extension with the Green Bay Packers to make him the NFL’s highest paid player in history.
The NFL MVP agreed to a 4-year, $200 million deal and will receive an incredible $153 million guaranteed.
Not only is Rodgers coming back to Cheesehead Nation, but wide receiver DaVante Adams is expected to receive the franchise tag from the Packers.
All the current players to receive the franchise tag are Cincinnati Bengals’ safety Jessie Bates, Cleveland Browns’ tight end David Njoku, Dallas Cowboys’ tight end Dalton Schultz, Jacksonville Jaguars’ offensive tackle Cam Robinson, Kansas City Chiefs’ offensive tackle Orlando Brown, and Miami Dolphins’ tight end Mike Gesicki.
