Texas Tech Names New Men's Head Basketball Coach

LUBBOCK, TX – Mark Adams has been confirmed as the new head basketball coach of the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

Texas Tech’s Athletic Director posted on twitter that Mark Adams would be the next men’s basketball coach for the Red Raiders.

Adams was an assistant coach under former TTU coach Chris Beard.

Beard left Texas Tech for Texas after 5 seasons as the Red Raiders head coach.

Adams was instrumental in implementing the defensive style Tech played the past few years. His philosophy is keeping the offense out of the middle and trapping the baseline drivers. It is an aggressive defense.

Adams has also found success outside Lubbock. He won a national championship in 2010 when he coached at Howard College.

Adams has nearly a 70 percent win rate, 23 years experience, and to top it off, is a Texas Tech graduate.
