Gov. Abbott Okays Fans at Jerry's World

ARLINGTON, TX – Jerry Jones confirmed on Tuesday that the Cowboys will have fans in attendance during the 2020 season.

According to owner Jerry Jones on 105.3 The Fan, on August 25, Jones told listeners that Governor Greg Abbott and him have talked and that Abbott has given him the "green light" on fans in the stadium.

"We're excited about it. He's excited about it. I'm excited that he's excited about it. We all know the importance of leading the way," said Jones in the interview.

Due to the disaster deceleration from the governor stadiums in the State of Texas are limited to only 50%. In AT&T stadium that would be 52,500 people.

The cowboys organization and the governors office are aware of that number and have plans for social distancing protocols.

"Certainly we've got the ability to lead the way to a more normal type of activity throughout it, whether it be economic or it be social," said Jones. "This is a great opportunity to do that in a very safe [way.] We're very unique in our stadium relative to just space."

The Cowboys first home game is set for October 11 against the New York Giants at 3:25 p.m.
