Harris Bounces Back With Round Winning Time, Now 7th In The World

 

LAS VEGAS, NV — After two solid showings and two no times, San Angelo native Ty Harris bounced back with a first place finish in the fifth round of the National Rodeo Finals in Las Vegas Monday night.

In the tie-down roping event at the world's biggest rodeo, Harris clocked a 7.40.  The second closest finish was Riley Pruitt who had a 7.70. 

After four rounds, Harris was in 11th place worldwide with his yearly earnings being $120,976.37.  His win on Monday was rewarded with a $26,230.77 purse.  That payday propelled him to $147, 207.14 and 7th place in the worldwide rankings.

He is now only $5,616.07 behind the current 4th place holder Tuf Cooper and $53,835.94 behind Shane Hanchey in 1st place. 

The tie-down roping event is now halfway through with five rounds completed.  They will keep competing every day until the tenth round on Saturday.
