The San Angelo Bandits are having a big summer blowout sale on Saturday, July 30, at their office located at 1320 Austin Ave. It will start at 7 a.m. and go until 1 p.m.
They announced the sale July 6 on the Bandits' Facebook page. Some people asked if the team was going to be closing because of this sale, but team owner Randy Sanders made it clear the intent is to sell excess equipment and office supplies before going into the next football season.
“We’ve got a bunch of excess that we have accumulated over the years,” Sanders said. “Some are getting rid of furniture as well as the beds we used from the last year.”
He added that the idea is to clean out storage and prepare for the next session.
"This is the time where we sell our season tickets, corporate sponsorships, and prepare for the upcoming session," Sanders said. “We want to apply the cash made from the sale for the purchase of future equipment.”
Additionally, the league meetings will be taking place July 18 – 20 to discuss the Bandits' upcoming schedule that will start in March of 2017. Sanders said he hopes to have a confirmed schedule by mid-September of this year.
There are also plans to hold kid football camps in the fall when the weather isn't as hot outside. Sanders mentioned the team's players who live in San Angelo look forward to participating in these camps.
