SAPD Awarded $1.23 Million for Tech Modernization

 

SAN ANGELO, TX - The San Angelo Police Department has received notification that it will be the recipient of federal funding to support critical technology upgrades, the department announced Friday morning. 

"We are extremely grateful to Congressman August Pfluger for securing $1,233,324 in Community Project Funding for the SAPD/PSC Technology Upgrade Program," information from the department stated. "This investment directly strengthens public safety in San Angelo by ensuring our 911 dispatch and records management systems remain reliable, secure, and fully compliant with cybersecurity standards. Our current infrastructure supports every call for service, every police report, and every interaction between our officers, dispatchers, and the community."

According to the department, modernizing this technology will enhance operational efficiency through faster response times, improved information sharing, stronger cybersecurity protections, and uninterrupted service to the community. 

"While this funding represents a significant step forward, maintaining best-in-class public safety services requires ongoing investment in technology and infrastructure," the department stated. "The San Angelo Police Department remains committed to pursuing additional opportunities that enhance capabilities, safeguard sensitive information, and provide the highest level of service to the people of San Angelo."
