Goodfellow AFB Still Under Mission-Essential-Only Status

SAN ANGELO, TX — Goodfellow Air Force Base will remain on mission-essential personnel only status through Sunday, Jan. 25, due to ongoing inclement weather and hazardous road conditions.

All programs, events, and activities are canceled for both days. The Base Exchange and commissary are closed, while the dining facility remains open.

In an update emailed to local media Saturday afternoon, 17th Training Wing Public Affairs announced the restricted operations apply to Jan. 24 and Jan. 25.

The message stated: “Due to inclement weather and road conditions, Goodfellow AFB will be mission essential personnel only; programs, events, and activities are cancelled. The BX and the Commissary are closed; the dining facility remains open. This is effective today, Jan. 24, and tomorrow, Jan. 25.”

An earlier announcement Saturday morning had limited the status to Jan. 24 only.
