$8.5M Flood Relief Begins from Lambert–McCollum Benefit

SAN ANGELO, TX — The “Band Together Texas” benefit concert hosted by country stars Miranda Lambert and Parker McCollum has entered the distribution phase, sending out the $8.5 million raised for families and communities impacted by the severe Central Texas floods earlier this year.

The artists organized the Aug. 17 event to support recovery efforts following widespread flooding that damaged homes, businesses, and infrastructure across several counties. The concert brought together major performers, including Cody Johnson, Dylan Gossett, Jack Ingram, and Ronnie Dunn, along with high-profile Texans from the entertainment and sports world such as Matthew McConaughey, Dennis Quaid, Mack Brown, Emmanuel Acho, Colt McCoy, Vince Young, and Roger Clemens.

Event organizers said priority funding will go to the counties hit hardest by the disaster. The Central Texas Community Foundation will receive $8 million, including $1 million designated for the Concho County Community Foundation. The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country will receive more than $650,000 to support Habitat for Humanity’s “Home for the Holidays” program, with additional funds set to assist recovery in Travis, Williamson, Burnet, Kerr, Concho, and Tom Green counties.

Organizers said the goal is to provide resources for housing recovery, infrastructure improvements, and community revitalization.

Lambert called the funds “lifelines for families still recovering,” noting that organizers worked with state officials and local partners to identify the most urgent needs. McCollum said the turnout and donations reflected how Texans “come together in such a huge way” during moments of crisis.

The Aug. 17 concert was a sold-out event that performers described as a night of honoring flood victims, first responders, and the ongoing efforts to rebuild affected communities.
