SAN ANGELO, TX — The National Weather Service in San Angelo warns that a strong cold front will move through the region late Saturday afternoon or evening, bringing sharply colder temperatures and a potential freeze by early Monday.
Forecasters say there’s a 40–70% chance that low temperatures will drop to 32 degrees or below across much of West Central Texas Monday morning. The highest likelihood for freezing temperatures will be in low-lying areas such as lake shores and river valleys.
Ahead of the front, the weather will remain dry and unseasonably warm through Saturday, with highs in the mid-80s across much of the area. Temperatures are expected to fall dramatically Sunday and Monday, with morning lows near or below freezing in several cities, including San Angelo, Brady, and Brownwood.
Residents are advised to protect plants, pets, and outdoor plumbing ahead of the cold snap.
