SAN ANGELO, TX — San Angelo State Park has released its November schedule, featuring wildlife viewing, guided hikes, stargazing, and educational programming at locations both inside the park and in downtown San Angelo.
Bison and longhorn viewing will take place every Wednesday and Saturday at 10 a.m.
The month begins Nov. 2 with a Monarch Walk in recognition of Texas State Parks Day from 11 a.m. to noon at Bell’s Trailhead in the park’s North Unit.
On Nov. 20, the park will host “Constellation Stories” at the Stephens Central Library downtown. The program begins at 5 p.m.
A Star Party is set for Nov. 22 at the Red Arroyo Campground boat ramp from 5:45 to 7:30 p.m., offering visitors a guided look at the night sky.
A women’s sunset hike will take place Nov. 23 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Isabel Harte Multi-Use Area.
The month concludes Nov. 29 with a “Turkey Trot” hike at Bell’s Trailhead in the North Unit from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
A special event is also scheduled for today, Oct. 31. The park will host a “Cryptid Crawl” from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., beginning at the River Bend Restroom. The guided walk along the Ghost Camp Trail covers about one mile and explores legends and myths tied to the park. Participants are encouraged to wear closed-toe shoes and bring water; costumes are welcome. An entrance permit is required.
