San Angelo Commits $1.3M for Flood Debris Removal

SAN ANGELO, TX – The City of San Angelo has allocated up to $1.3 million to fund flood debris removal and is urging residents to follow federally declared disaster guidelines to remain eligible for potential FEMA reimbursement.

The city has contracted Ceres Environmental for flood debris collection, which is expected to continue through mid-September. Residents are asked to properly sort and move debris close to the curb to help expedite pickup.

Republic Services will continue its regular trash collection and is not involved in storm debris removal.

Debris Removal Options:

1. City-contracted Removal (Ceres):

• No cost to property owners.
• View a zone map at sanangelo.gov/july4. Each zone will likely receive 2-3 passes.
• Debris must be moved as close to the curb as possible for pickup. Some items too far from the curb may require assistance from volunteers or property owners.

2. Self-removal:

• Property owners may choose to haul their own debris or hire someone to do so. All costs are the owner's responsibility.

3. Landfill:

• Residential property owners may haul debris from their primary residence to the landfill for free once per month.
• This option is not available for commercial or non-primary residences.
• City residents should bring their most recent water bill statement (paper or mobile) along with a valid ID that matches the address on the statement.
• County residents should provide their most recent electric bill and a valid ID.
• The landfill is located at 3002 Old Ballinger Highway and is open 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and closed Sundays.
