Christoval Woman Seeks Answers After Missing Dog’s Collar Found

CHRISTOVAL, TX — A Christoval woman searching for her missing dogs is pleading for information after one of her pets’ collars was discovered on a sign along Toenail Trail near Christoval High School, leaving unanswered questions about the fate of her missing animals since May 30.

Tory Pittman posted an emotional appeal on social media this week, asking the person who placed the collar on the sign to contact her. Pittman said she has cried daily over her dogs and hopes for closure.

“Where was this collar? Was it on my dog when you found it? Was he hit by a car? Was it on his body?” Pittman wrote.

A man later responded, stating he found the collar on top of an “adopt a highway” trash pile and, instead of discarding it, placed it on the sign and texted phone numbers found on the collar. Corbin said there was no dog in sight and that he acted in good faith.

“I thought I was doing a good deed,” Corbin wrote, adding he had no bad intentions.

Other community members, including a woman who picked up trash near the river and a friend of Pittman’s husband, also reported seeing the collar recently but no sign of the dogs.

Pittman confirmed the collar belongs to her black Saint Berdoodle named Duck but said there is still no sign of her second missing dog, a Goldendoodle named Minnie. Despite the heartbreak, Pittman said she remains hopeful.

“I’m still hopeful I will find them, and somehow having his collar gives me some little part of him back,” she wrote.

The incident has garnered significant community support, with many offering prayers and encouragement. Anyone with information is urged to contact Pittman directly at 325-574-0059.
