San Angelo City Council to Consider Tax Abatement, Road Projects in Tuesday Meeting

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – The San Angelo City Council is set to discuss a range of issues Tuesday morning, including a proposed tax abatement agreement with an energy storage company, multiple roadway improvement projects, and funding approvals for city infrastructure.

The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the McNease Convention Center – South Meeting Room, 501 Rio Concho Drive. The agenda includes:

  • A public hearing on a three-year tax abatement for Zeppelin Energy Storage, LLC within Reinvestment Zone No. 24-2.
  • Consideration of TIRZ incentives for nine private projects totaling more than $529,000.
  • Approval of various road construction contracts, including $800,000 for street materials and $61,045 for improvements on Glenna Street, Edmund Boulevard, and 29th Street.
  • Discussion on an emergency repair contract for a traffic signal at Beauregard Avenue and Abe Street, estimated at $185,625.

The council will also consider a resolution designating March 29 as Vietnam War Veterans Memorial Day and hear public comments at the start of the session.

A closed session is scheduled to discuss property tax assessments and real estate matters concerning city-owned land.
