Candidate Packets for May 3 Election Now Available

SAN ANGELO, TX — Candidate packets for the upcoming May 3 election, which includes the mayoral race and seats for single-member districts 2, 4, and 6, are now available both online and at City Hall.

Elected officials will serve four-year terms ending in May 2029, according to information provided by the city. 

The filing period for candidates opens on Jan. 15 and will close at 5 p.m. on Feb. 14. Interested individuals can download complete candidate packets at cosatx.us/elections or pick up physical copies from the City Clerk’s office, located in Room 204 on the second floor of City Hall at 72 W. College Ave. The office is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Candidates must submit all required paperwork to the City Clerk’s office during the filing period. The candidate packets include necessary applications, forms, and additional information for those considering a run for City Council.

Voter registration applications are also available at the Tom Green County Election/Voter Registration Office on the first floor of the Edd B. Keyes Building, 113 W. Beauregard Ave.

Applications can be requested online at votetomgreencounty.org, by mail, or by calling 325-659-6541. Completed applications can be returned in person or by mail.

Additionally, citizens can register to vote while renewing their driver’s license at a Texas Department of Public Safety office.
