San Angelo Museum Director Steps Down

SAN ANGELO, TX —  Josefa Gonzalez Mariscal is no longer with the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts. She joined SAMFA on March 20, 2024 as President and Chief Executive Officer. The museum board did not indicate the circumstances of Mariscal's departure.

The Board of Trustees will begin an immediate search for an Interim Manager and for a new President and CEO to lead the museum successfully into the future.

“We wish Josefa well in her future endeavors,” said Heidi Brooks, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees. “As we conduct our searches, we’ll continue to serve as a strong catalyst for creativity and community and offer world-class programming and exhibitions for people of all ages in San Angelo and the Concho Valley.

“Our new From the Realms of Glory exhibition will feature a stunning selection of sacred art from Spanish Colonial and 19th century Latin America. It will be open to the public November 22 to January 19, 2025. Come see this amazing exhibition.”
