Angelo State University Greek Life Picks Up Trash on Loop 306

SAN ANGELO, TX – A group of Angelo State University students gave up their Saturday to pick up trash along Loop 306 after San Angelo LIVE! reported on the mess.

As previously reported, San Angelo LIVE! received a number of complaints from citizens urging that reporters write an article to raise awareness of the trash problem on W. Loop 306 near the Foster Rd. exit. For the original article see: Trash Build up Along Loop 306 Concerns Residents

Four days after that article, the news room received news that because of the article a large group of Angelo State University students volunteered to have a trash pick up day. These groups included a number of greek life organization including Pi Kappa Alpha, Delta Zeta, and more. The pickup was organized by the ASU Community Outreach Department.

The group met on Saturday morning and cleaned for the majority of the day. The City of San Angelo's trash clean up group, Keep San Angelo Beautiful, handed out a number of items including the trash grabbers, trash bags, gloves, and more. Here are photos from the event:

This clean up event was a one day event. So if you enjoy the view of clean streets remember you can help by doing your part. Remember no littering, never throw trash out of the window, never put trash in the bed of your pickup, keep your yards clean, and always remember to clean up after yourself.
