Third San Angeloan Files to Take on the Establishment

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — A third person filed to run against a current city council member on Friday city officials confirmed.

According to the City of San Angelo’s Public Information Office, on Feb. 5, the third citizen in San Angelo has filed to run against a current member of the City Council. 

The first person to file against an incumbent was Silvara Lawson. She is attempting to dethrone Mayor Brenda Gunter. Lawson filed on Jan. 15, two days after the first day of filing. Then on Jan. 19, Mercedes Dela Cruz filed to run for city council in District two. This seat in District two is currently held by Tom Thompson.

Now the City has released a third new candidate. Larry Miller filed to run for City Council Single Member District Six on Feb. 5. Miller will be running against Billie DeWitt.

The final council member running opposed at this time is Single Member District 4 which is held by Lucy Gonzales.
