San Angelo Teen Attacked by Shark in Florida

COCOA BEACH, FL — A teen from San Angelo was on vacation with his family in Central Florida, when he was attacked by a bull shark at Cocoa Beach.

Cody High, 15, and his family were in Florida for a vacation and a trip to Disney World. The family decided to take a swim at Cocoa Beach but it was interrupted by an unwanted visitor, a 7-foot bull shark.

“I was about knee-deep when he got me, and I was walking back,” said Cody. “I didn’t see it at all.” The shark took a bite out of the 15-year-old’s leg before swimming away, according to FOX 5.

“I saw blood everywhere, and I just knew something bad had happened. People were crying, my mom was by far one of the most petrified ones. She was screaming, ‘Oh my God! What happened?!’

The shark ripped through High’s calf, leaving him with stiches and bound to a wheelchair for the remainder for his vacation.

“It felt like a hand squeezing as hard as possible. My older brother likes pranking me a lot, and it really felt like he just grabbed me with his hand,” Cody told the TV news there.
