SAN ANGELO, TX -- (COSA Press Release) Army Lt. Col. Kandace M. Daffin will be the guest speaker at the annual Freedom Fund banquet on Feb. 3, according to a news release from San Angelo's NAACP Unit 6219.
This year's theme is "Steadfast: Unified In Diversity."
The event begins at 6 p.m. in the McNease Convention Center, 501 Rio Concho Drive, and Daffin will speak based on her extensive experience in the Armed Forces.
According to her biography, Daffin enlisted in the Army in 1991, and currently serves as commander at the Dallas Military Entrance Processing Station.
She has served as a behavioral-science specialist and human-resources expert, having served at several duty stations throughout the country. She has completed the Airborne Course, Air Assault School, Master Fitness Training Course, Adjutant General Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, and Intermediate Level Education Course, and holds a bachelor of science in economics from the United States Military Academy at West Point, and a masters degree clinical psychology.
Her awards and decorations include two Meritorious Service Medals, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, two Army Commendation Medals, two Army Achievement Medals, and various unit and service medals and ribbons.
Individual tickets are priced at $30. Table sponsorship costs $350 for a table of 10.
