SAN ANGELO, TX — It didn’t snow for Christmas, but the San Angelo office of the National Weather Service said a cold front will arrive today and freezing rain is in the forecast.
Tonight, as temperatures drop, NWS said the region will experience patchy freezing drizzle “Patchy icing may develop, mainly on bridge and overpasses,” NWS reported. The predominant area where this will occur is north of a line from Sterling City to Brownwood, which leaves most of Tom Green County out of the freezing rain zone.
NWS said a strong cold front is moving south and temperatures will hiver around freezing north of Interstate 20. Here in Tom Green County, temperatures will warm to the 40s and 50s F early Tuesday, but begin falling in the afternoon.
By Wednesday, the highs will climb only to the mid- to upper-30s F.
The NWS said that the forecast for New Years Day will be cold and dry.
