Flash Flood Watch Continues Through Thursday Evening for the Concho Valley

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- The National Weather Service office in San Angelo has issued a Flash Flood Watch for the Concho Valley through Thursday evening.  

According to the NWS, the Flash Flood Watch includes a portion of west central Texas, including  Coke, Concho, Crockett, Fisher, Haskell, Irion, Jones,  Kimble, Menard, Nolan, Runnels, Schleicher, Sterling, Sutton,Taylor, and Tom Green counties.

Forecasters predict rainfall amounts of 3 to 4 inches are possible. Isolated amounts over 5 inches are possible,  across the Interstate 10 Corridor between Ozona and Sonora. The heaviest rain should end by Thursday evening.

Heavy rainfall will lead to saturated soils and runoff that may result in flooding of poor drainage and low lying areas, creeks and street flooding.
