AIDS Memorial Walk Relocated Due to Weather

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – The Open Arms AIDS Memorial Walk scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 1, at Kirby Park will relocate to the St. Paul Presbyterian Church gym, 11 N. Park St., due to the weather. Organizers for the event said the walk will still take place from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

“The first of its kind in at least a decade, the AIDS Memorial Walk is open to all ages,” said a press release. “Participants will be able to memorialize their loves ones with a graffiti wall and a vigil. Coffee and hot chocolate will be provided by DeCoty, and Santa Claus will be on hand to take photographs.”

Speakers of the event will include Sharon Herrera of S.H.A.R.E. Link, LLC, Vicky Howell of Shannon Health System, Sam Guerrero of Texas Department of State Health Services and Rev. Timothy Davenport-Herbs of St. Paul Presbyterian Church.

The event is free, but donations will be greatly appreciated. Additionally, participants are encouraged to wear red.
