Chief Carter Welcomes Back Retired Sgt. as Reserve Officer

 

SAN ANGELO, TX- Police Chief Frank Carter welcomed back a 20-year veteran to the San Angelo Police Department as a Reserve Officer on Monday, November 21.

After his retirement this May, Retired Police Sergeant Todd Dornhecker once again took the oath to serve the citizens of San Angelo.

“I wanted to take on the role as a Reserve Officer because I missed working alongside my police family," Dornhecker said. "I am grateful for the opportunity to come back in this capacity and give back to the community, and continue to serve the citizens of San Angelo.” 

Sgt. Dornhecker started his career with SAPD in April 1996 and has extensive law enforcement experience — having served in the Department’s Patrol Division, K-9 Unit, Narcotics Section, Special Operations Section, and Traffic Section. Prior to his career at the San Angelo Police Department, Sgt. Dornhecker worked as a correctional officer with the Llano County Sheriff’s Office.

Sgt. Dornhecker holds a Master Peace Officer’s License, is a certified TCOLE Instructor, Firearms Instructor, and he holds various Gang and Narcotics Certifications.
