Enjoy Family Day for Dogs At SAMFA

SAN ANGELO, TX - On Saturday Nov. 12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts (SAMFA) will host Family Day for Dogs. SAMFA will be partnering with Concho Valley PAWS to make this event possible.

The press release announcing the event encourages San Angeloans to join the Concho Valley PAWS at SAMFA with their special four-legged friend.

It stated, “Family Days are held on the second Saturday of each month and are always free. We feature a different theme every month. Family Days are supported in the part by the San Angelo Area Foundation, Texas Commission of the Arts and The Sterling-Turner Foundation.”

SAMFA is located at 1 Love St. From 10 a.m. to 12 pm, there will be a story time with therapy dogs Bucky and Chase. Beginning at 12 p.m., the public can explore the museum’s collection with a tour from a dog’s point of view.

The press release added that people attending the Family Day for Dogs can participate in a Shelter Showcase and Foster Recruitment Event.

"The city of San Angelo will bring 30 adoptable pets [to the Family Day for Dogs], with the hope that we have 100 percent success and not a single dog has to go back to the shelter,” said the press release.

All money raised during the event will go to Concho Valley PAWS. Activities to do with pets include:

  • Clay paw print: $3
  • Paw print painting: $5
  • Pet photo booth with Santa PAWS: $5
  • Paint a portrait of your pet: $25
