TxDOT Participates in City Town Hall Meeting November 10

The City of San Angelo will host a town hall meeting regarding the potential for increased commercial development along the US 67/Sherwood Way corridor and the effects to the area, including traffic safety concerns that might be triggered by such growth.  Hosted by Councilmember Charlotte Farmer, the meeting will be held at Southland Baptist Church, 4300 Meadow Creek Trail, San Angelo, TX 76904 on Tuesday, November 10 and will begin at 6 p.m.

At the meeting, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will present information regarding proposed safety improvements to US 67/Sherwood Way between Loop 306 and FM 2288/Southland Blvd related to this growth. Proposed work includes an additional, new traffic signal, a raised median, and alteration of the existing direct connection from southbound US 67/Houston Harte to FM 2288. Public comments will be accepted at the meeting and until November 20, 2015. Written comments may be submitted either in person or by mail to Mr. John DeWitt, P.E., Director of Transportation Planning and Development, TxDOT District Office, 4502 Knickerbocker Rd., San Angelo, TX 76901.

The Public Meeting will be conducted in English.  Persons interested in attending the meeting who have special communication or accommodation needs, or need an interpreter, are encouraged to contact Ms. Becki Perkins at TxDOT, (325) 947-9261 or [email protected].  Requests should be made at least two days prior to the public meeting.  Every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate these needs.
