St. Mary’s Church will sponsor the second annual St. Mary’s Music Fest this summer on July 25 at the River Stage. This year’s headliner will be Aaron Watson, who recently visited San Angelo for an album signing at Hastings. ‘The Underdog’ is his twelfth album, which made the top of the Billboard charts at #1 in its first week.
“This is our annual fund raiser for the church; one hundred percent of the proceeds will go to the church,” said Jesse Fitchett, Event Planner for the church. “It’s a pretty old church so, we’ve got a long list of repairs that need to be done, and they are very costly things that the church,” he said. “But not only that, we help out with the soup kitchen, and different ministries throughout the city that we have a hand in, and so this will help out with that as well.”
Tickets go on sale April 1 at $15 in advance, and $20 at the gate. Each ticket sold will be automatically entered into a raffle for an autographed acoustic guitar by Watson himself. The name will be drawn by Watson himself, you must be present to win.You can purchase tickets at the McNease Convention Center, Blair's Western Wear, Pinkie's Liquor Store ,Barbed Wire and Roses, and Goodfellow Air Force Base.
“This is an event for everyone, we want families to come out and enjoy the music at our River Stage. All kids 10 and under will be admitted for free,” said Fitchett.
Other acts are to include Mario Flores, Cacy Savala, Judson Cole Band, Elida Reyna y Avante, and Michael Salgado.
