Early Morning Rollover in South San Angelo

At 2:13 a.m., San Angelo police and fire rescue responded to a rollover crash in the 1900 block of Cox Lane. The female driver of the late model Chevrolet Captiva was rescued from the vehicle that was seen lying on its roof on the side of the road.

Police did not know the cause of the accident and they are investigating.

The driver was transported by ambulance to a hospital with unknown injuries.

During the crash scene investigation, rescue workers became alarmed that there may have been a child in the vehicle also. After searching the inside of the Chevy and around the area, it was determined that a child was not a passenger when the crash occurred.

The street area was extremely dark while police were capturing the crash scene with cameras and marking off distances. The investigation may continue tomorrow more intensively if the driver is determined to have been intoxicated.
