San Angelo Structure Fire on Ave. L East of Bryant Ave.

Several alarms were initiated from San Angelo Dispatch at 8:50 p.m. indicating that there was a structure fire at 350 E. Ave. L in San Angelo. Initial reports through Nixle warned San Angeloans to avoid the area for "several hours" which could have indicated a rather large fire. By the time our team arrived at 9:10 p.m., no visible flames or smoke were present.

Update 9:17 p.m.

Four San Angelo Fire Department pumper trucks, an ambulance and a fire marshall are on the scene. The fire appears to be extinguished.

Update 9:35 p.m.

Ave. L is blocked off from Bryant Ave. eastward to Hill St. Smoke was present when we arrived, but it appears to be extinguished at this time. The fire appears to have been localized to a back room of the house.

The San Angelo Fire Department is packing up.

We anticipate Ave. L to reopen once the SAFD rolls up their hoses and departs.

Update 9:50 p.m.

Fire Marshall Ross Coleman is investigating the cause of the fire at the home, which appears to be a total loss. The fire was extinguished within 7 minutes of the fire department arriving at the scene.

Update 10:00 p.m.

No one was inside the home and there were no injuries.
