Election Day Polling Info: High Early Voter Turnout in Tom Green County

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – With the 2024 general elections set for November 5, Tom Green County has recorded a major early voter turnout, with 33,728 voters casting their ballots during the early voting period.

According to Vona Hudson from the Tom Green County Elections Office, this represents a 49.5% turnout, marking the highest early voting participation she has seen in her tenure.

Here is the full list of Election Day polling places in Tom Green County for November 5, 2024. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The ballot includes high-stakes races at both the national and local levels. Nationally, voters will decide on the presidential race between former President Donald Trump and current Vice President Kamala Harris, as well as a U.S. Senate race between incumbent Republican Ted Cruz and Democratic challenger Rep. Colin Allred. Locally, two Tom Green County Commissioner seats are up for election, with Precinct 1 and Precinct 3 races being contested.

Additionally, San Angelo ISD’s Proposition A is also on the ballot.

Voting Requirements:

Voters must bring an acceptable form of identification, which includes Texas driver’s licenses, U.S. passports, and military IDs. For those who cannot provide one of these, alternative forms such as a utility bill or government check with proof of name and address will be accepted.

Restrictions at Polling Places:

Texas law prohibits the use of cell phones, cameras, or wireless devices within 100 feet of voting stations. Additionally, voters are not allowed to wear clothing or accessories that display political messages or affiliations within polling locations.

Mail-in Voting:

Eligible voters aged 65 or older, those with disabilities, and individuals confined to jail may apply for mail-in ballots. Click here to find an application for a ballot by mail.
