CHRISTOVAL, TX — Thousands gathered Sunday evening for Pfluger Pfest 2024, an annual event held at Cooper’s BBQ in Christoval, featuring a performance by country music star Kevin Fowler.
Congressman August Pfluger, who represents Texas’ 11th Congressional District, hosted the event, which attracted an estimated crowd of over 1,000 attendees as of early evening, he said.
“This is the biggest turnout we’ve had. We’re expecting several thousand people to be here tonight,” Pfluger said. “It’s a great chance for the community to celebrate together, patriotically, to celebrate being American.”
Pfluger is currently unopposed, seeking a third term in the U.S. House of Representatives, and took the opportunity to connect with constituents and encourage voter participation ahead of the November 5 election, with early voting set to begin tomorrow.

“Have your voice heard," Pfluger said. "Go vote, go vote early. Make sure that you have your voice heard."
During an interview with San Angelo LIVE!, Pfluger spoke about his commitment to West Texas, highlighting his work on behalf of the region’s military bases, agricultural interests, and energy sector.
He also spoke over concerns about the direction of the country, saying, “I think our country has been on the wrong track for the last three years, but I feel confident we’re going to get back on that course.”
