Biden's Leftist Justice Department Sues Texas Over Voting Integrity Law

SAN ANTONIO, TX – President Biden's Justice Department Thursday sued the State of Texas for its Voter Integrity law falsely accusing the state of voter suppression.

In the hyper-politicized filing in the U.S. Western District of Texas Federal Court in San Antonio, the far-left Biden Administration says, "The challenged provisions will disenfranchise eligible Texas citizens who seek to exercise their right to vote, including voters with limited English proficiency, voters with disabilities, elderly voters, members of the military deployed away from home, and American citizens residing outside of the country. These vulnerable voters already confront barriers to the ballot box, and SB 1 will exacerbate the challenges they face in exercising their fundamental right to vote."

Gov. Abbott responded to the suit in a tweet: "Bring it. The Texas election integrity law is legal. It INCREASES hours to vote. It does restrict illegal mail ballot voting. Only those who qualify can vote by mail. It also makes ballot harvesting a felony. In Texas it is easier to vote but harder to cheat."

Texas Democrats were in lockstep with the National Socialists in Washington playing the race card calling all Texas Republicans racists and begging Washington to override 240 years of states' voting rights: "Senate Bill 1 was passed for one purpose: to create barriers to voting, in an attempt to shut down the voices of millions of Black and Brown Texans.  Although we are grateful for today’s challenge to parts of S.B. 1, we cannot stop pushing for our legislators in Congress to act now.  We need our Senators to reform the filibuster and immediately pass both the John Lewis Voting Rights Act and the Freedom to Vote Act to save our democracy and to protect every American voter.”

Another good job by a Biden agency. We shall see how these voter suppression laws hold up in court, if justice prevails and the DOJ wins, it's on to the next state that republicans enacted voter suppression laws in.

Still nobody can answer how limiting voting machines/limiting voting places and lowering the hours in primarily democrat voting areas is "election/voter integrity."

There was no election fraud, all of the court challenges were thrown out, some by trump appointed judges. NONE of the audits/recounts/investigations by republicans themselves have turned up ANYTHING, if they did we sure would know about it. This is all for show and to suppress democratic voting. Republicans know they cannot win democratically so they are rejecting democracy. They are also becoming more radicalized everyday, they already tried to take over the government once by storming the capitol. That was just a dress rehearsal, they will do it again, solidifying their cult in the history books as a terrorist organization. Remember you did it to yourselves.

ME Someone, Fri, 11/05/2021 - 17:47

Nope, if they did it would have been on repeat on every right wing news outlet for months. All the republicans investigations and audits has come up with is more votes for Biden.

Did you see the one that actually goes further than the results of the “recount”. 57,000 “problem ballots” when Biden only won with around 10,000. It doesn’t prove anything but they certainly found issues. The article I clicked on says it’s all still under review by the state right now.

ME Someone, Sat, 11/06/2021 - 13:33

Post article. But Biden still won you say?

Only someone with the intellectual capacity of a cow pie could still imagine there was widespread voter fraud in the last election.  That fiction was endlessly peddled to a crowd incapable of discerning fact from fiction by a walking disease vector named Donald Trump, with the disease he was spreading being stupidity.

Speaking of “dress rehearsals” no better example than the democrats’ EPIC loss in Virginia…especially since it’s apparent they’re refusing to back off from their radical leftist agenda ;)

ME Someone, Fri, 11/05/2021 - 11:01

It was fraud! the proof is right there if you look for it! It was a stolen election!

I can't even keep a straight face typing that, see how stupid it sounds? That's what you sound like when you are talking about trumps loss.

Virginia was no big deal, the new Jersey guy won reelection that he wasn't expected to, besides that was for governor, not the house or senate, or even the PRESIDENCY which trump lost.

WRONG. Biden won New Jersey by 16 points…so the “New Jersey guy” was NOT expected to lose!

But please do keep making ridiculous excuses just shows how out of touch democrats are with the American people ;)

Not since George H. W. Bush has a republican won a statewide or national election ;)

“We need our Senators to reform the filibuster and immediately pass both the John Lewis Voting Rights Act and the Freedom to Vote Act…”

There you have it! The democrats want to do away with the filibuster in the Senate, which requires a two-thirds majority in order for a bill to pass, and unconstitutionally change our election laws by federalizing our elections ;)

ME Someone, Fri, 11/05/2021 - 11:03

What do you have against everybody being able to vote easily? Afraid you will loose? Or do you just hate democracy?

If voting is important enough to you, then  put your mask on and get off your dead ass and go vote. Or if you’re disabled or plan on being out of the state/country then use the absentee process it really is that “simple” ;)

ME Someone, Sat, 11/06/2021 - 13:41

Republicans made the absentee process much harder to qualify for in their voter suppression bills, not to mention made it harder to vote in general.

I like your idea of mailing everyone a ballot in your other comment, it's a great idea, and as you pointed out multiple states already do just that with no issues.

Not going to happen in Texas if you like that idea you should move to another state ;)

ME Someone, Fri, 11/05/2021 - 17:42

I mean, it's not "storm the capitol and attempt to take over the government" important.

Notice which of the democrats’ demands comes first. First do away with the filibuster, then “immediately” pass legislation changing our election laws…because even THEY know the one is not going to happen without the other ;)

ME Someone, Fri, 11/05/2021 - 17:45

Republicans just passed voter suppression laws in multiple states, don't talk about "changing our election laws"

Still no one has answered me how limiting voting places/machines and lowering hours in primarily democrat voting areas is in the name of "voter/election integrity"

That’s because it’s bullshit. The reality is anything short of sending ballots out to every single registered voter (which btw is what a number of states do) is going to be portrayed as “voter suppression” by the democrats whose desire is to unconstitutionally federalize our voting laws ;)

ME Someone, Sat, 11/06/2021 - 13:31

"The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Places of chusing Senators."

The constitution SPECIFICALLY states that congress can change regulations regarding voting.

Also, Mailing ballots to every single voter is an excellent idea.

How is limiting voting machines/places and lowering the time frame for voting in primarily Democrat voting areas "voter/election integrity"? You can't answer that, and have already admitted you can't. If it was in republican areas you would say it was voter suppression, but since it is limiting Democrat votes, you are alright with it.

Haha good luck with that! Not only requires two-thirds vote in the Senate, which is WHY the democrats want to do away with the filibuster, but Supreme Court precedent belongs to the States ;)

Better get after it the midterms will be here before you know it!

In case anyone is wondering, they’re available at any of the 230 Texas driver’s license offices throughout the state ;)

No charge for Election Identification Certificate (EIC).

You’re welcome ;)

ME Someone, Sun, 11/07/2021 - 16:31

And the only document beside marriage stuff that is eligible is a birth certificate. Just more hoops to make people to jump through. Looks like you proved that a voter ID is unnecessary though huh?

What are you yammering about now? The election identification certificate IS the form of ID used to vote if the person has no driver’s license etc.!

ME Someone, Sun, 11/07/2021 - 11:44

So you are telling me that you seriously think it is illegal to NOT have an ID?

You are wrong.

All a person is required to do is provide their correct name.  Now if you are driving, which is a privilege, not a right you will need a drivers license.  But waltzing down the street only your name is required.

ME Someone, Mon, 11/08/2021 - 13:20

Only when driving and having been pulled over, which a license is required for driving in the first place.

In Texas, and most other states, you only have to provide your information if you are arrested, not "show ID" cops can't just walk up to you and ask for your ID or information. You are wrong on this one.

"(a)A person commits an offense if he intentionally refuses to give his name, residence address, or date of birth to a peace officer who has lawfully arrested the person and requested the information."

Notice it says NOTHING about "ID", even then they can't ask for your information unless you are arrested.

ME Someone, Sat, 11/06/2021 - 20:34

Parroting a line made up by the main stream media that you claim to hate?

I hate to spoil your utopian socialist wet dream, but democrats are all but assured  to NEVER AGAIN hold a filibuster proof majority in the Senate there’s a reason why our government is set up the way it is ;)

What amazes me is that you demo libs apparently don’t have brains enough to realize how doing away with the filibuster could (and no doubt would) come back to haunt you once republicans are back in power ;)

That doesn’t even make any sense how is requiring someone to show proof of their identity “making them jump through hoops”?

Goes back to my previous comment. If it’s mportant enough then get off your dead ass and go do it ;)

ME Someone, Sun, 11/07/2021 - 18:18

" If it’s mportant enough then get off your dead ass and go do it ;)"

Once again you prove that you care nothing of the disabled or elderly.
