SAN ANGELO, TX — Today will bring the warmest temperatures West Central Texas has seen in a month, with highs climbing into the upper 70s under mostly sunny skies and light winds.
The National Weather Service in San Angelo forecasts afternoon highs ranging from 76 to 79 degrees across much of the region — the highest since Jan. 7 in some areas. Cities like San Angelo and Abilene are expected to reach the upper 70s to around 80 degrees, well above early February normals of 61-64 degrees.
The warm-up follows weeks of colder-than-average conditions. Morning lows today started in the 30s to mid-40s.
The warming trend is expected to continue through mid-next week, with daily highs remaining in the 70s. Overnight lows will gradually rise into the 40s and 50s.
Dry weather will prevail through the weekend, though a slight chance (20-30%) of rain showers is possible from early Monday morning through Tuesday evening.
