Dense Fog Advisory in Effect for San Angelo Area

SAN ANGELO, TX — A dense fog advisory is in effect for San Angelo and surrounding counties until 11 a.m. Saturday, according to the San Angelo Police Department and the National Weather Service.

Visibility is expected to drop below a quarter of a mile across portions of the Big Country, Concho Valley, and northern Heartland this morning, including areas along Interstate 20 and U.S. Highway 87. Drivers are urged to slow down, use low-beam headlights, and maintain a safe distance between vehicles.

The advisory includes Tom Green, Concho, Irion, Runnels, Coke, Sterling, Nolan, Fisher, Haskell, Throckmorton, Jones, Shackelford, Taylor, Callahan, Coleman, and Brown counties.

Motorists should be prepared for hazardous driving conditions, particularly in rural areas and low-lying regions where fog is thickest. Visibility is expected to gradually improve by late morning.

A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to one quarter mile or less.
