Hot, Dry Weather to Persist Into Next Week

SAN ANGELO, TX — Residents across West Central Texas can expect more hot and dry conditions heading into the weekend and through next week, according to the National Weather Service in San Angelo.

Friday’s forecast calls for highs in the mid-90s across much of the region, including 94 degrees in San Angelo, Ballinger, and Brownwood. Skies will remain mostly sunny, with south to southeast winds at 10 to 15 mph and occasional gusts near 20 mph.

The extended outlook shows little relief, with high pressure keeping temperatures above normal and rainfall chances low. Highs are expected to stay in the 90s across the area through next Friday, while overnight lows will settle in the 60s.

Despite the calendar turning to September, meteorological fall has started off warmer than average. The National Weather Service noted that fall in San Angelo typically brings average highs in the mid to upper 70s, lows in the mid-50s, and about 6 to 7 inches of rainfall—making it the wettest season of the year for the city. Astronomical fall will not begin until the autumnal equinox on September 22.
