Cooler Weather and Rain Chances Returning to San Angelo by Weekend

SAN ANGELO, TX — Temperatures across West Central Texas will stay near seasonal norms early this week before climbing into the upper 90s Thursday and Friday, according to the National Weather Service in San Angelo.

The forecast calls for highs in San Angelo around 93 degrees Tuesday and Wednesday, before peaking near 96 on Thursday and Friday. Other cities across the region, including Abilene, Brownwood, and Ballinger, are also expected to reach the upper 90s during that period.

Rain chances remain slim through Friday, with only a 5 to 15 percent chance of isolated showers or storms. However, conditions shift heading into the weekend. The probability of precipitation increases to 25 to 35 percent Saturday and Sunday, offering some relief from the heat.

Highs will also drop into the upper 80s by Sunday, with San Angelo expected to reach 89 degrees. Winds will shift from the northeast early in the week to southerly by Thursday, bringing warmer air before the weekend cooldown.

The National Weather Service extended a Flood Watch through 7 a.m. Monday for the Concho Valley, Edwards Plateau, and northwest Hill Country as storms continued overnight. Forecasters said most areas could see 1 to 3 inches of rain, with locally higher totals of 3 to 5 inches possible.
