Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued for San Angelo Area Through Early Tuesday

SAN ANGELO, TX — The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of western Central Texas, including San Angelo, in effect through 2 a.m. CDT Tuesday.

Forecasters say scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop along an outflow boundary this evening. The storms may bring large hail up to 2 inches in diameter—about the size of tennis balls—and damaging wind gusts reaching up to 75 miles per hour.

The tornado potential is considered low, but the threat of severe hail and high winds remains significant. Residents are urged to monitor weather alerts and have multiple ways to receive warnings, especially as storms may strike overnight.

The watch was issued by the National Weather Service in San Angelo at 7:03 p.m. on June 9.
