SAN ANGELO, TX — The National Weather Service in San Angelo has placed much of the region, including Tom Green County, under a slight risk (Level 2 of 5) for severe thunderstorms today, with another round of potentially dangerous weather expected to develop late this afternoon into the evening.
Scattered storms could bring large hail, damaging winds, and an isolated tornado. The threat is tied to a dryline lingering over the area, which forecasters say could trigger thunderstorm development during peak heating hours.

“Not everyone will see a storm today,” the NWS noted, but all severe hazards remain possible if storms do form.
The risk shifts slightly eastward Monday, with a marginal to slight risk continuing mainly across the eastern counties. Large hail and damaging winds remain the primary concerns.

Above-normal temperatures are forecast through most of the upcoming week. San Angelo is expected to reach highs in the mid-90s, with slightly cooler conditions on Tuesday before temperatures rebound midweek.
