SAN ANGELO, TX – After a chilly Saturday with highs near 50 degrees, temperatures across the San Angelo region are forecasted to rise, with highs climbing into the 70s and 80s by early next week, according to the National Weather Service.
Cloud cover cleared this morning over the Big Country north of I-20 and west of a line stretching from Abilene to Miles and Ozona. Areas farther east and south, including Brownwood, San Saba, Brady, Menard, Junction, and Mason, will continue to see cloud cover, keeping afternoon highs in the mid-to-upper 40s where skies remain overcast.
In San Angelo, today’s forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with a high near 50 degrees. Winds are expected to remain calm, shifting to the south-southeast at around 5 mph in the afternoon. Tonight, temperatures will dip to around 32 degrees, with partly cloudy skies and light winds becoming west-southwest after midnight.
The extended forecast shows a warming trend beginning Sunday. Highs will gradually rise, reaching the upper 70s and low 80s by Monday and continuing through late next week. For San Angelo, highs are expected to hit 70°F on Sunday and peak at 81°F by Monday. Overnight lows will also increase, rising from the low 30s this weekend to the mid-40s by midweek.
Rain chances remain minimal through late next week, according to the NWS forecast.
