Cold Weather Advisory in Effect, Much Warmer Temps Expected Next Week

SAN ANGELO, TX – A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect for most of West Central Texas, including San Angelo, from 9 p.m. Thursday until 9 a.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

Wind chills as low as 5 to 15 degrees are expected, with temperatures falling into the teens.

Friday morning temperatures could drop into the single digits and low teens across the region. San Angelo is expected to feel wind chills between 12 and 15 degrees early Friday, while cities like Haskell could see wind chills as low as 4 degrees.

Another round of cold weather is expected Friday night, with lows dipping into the 20s. There is also a slight chance—between 10% and 20%—of a light wintry mix developing late Friday night east of a Brady to Junction line, which could create slick spots on bridges and overpasses.

Despite the frigid conditions to end the week, a warming trend is forecasted to begin over the weekend. High temperatures are expected to climb into the 70s and lower 80s by early next week, with above-normal temperatures continuing through Wednesday.
