Cold Front to Bring 30-Degree Drop to San Angelo by Sunday

SAN ANGELO, TX – A cold front is expected to sweep through West Central Texas this weekend, bringing a temperature drop of more than 30 degrees by Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

Ahead of the cold front, unseasonably warm temperatures will persist through Saturday, with San Angelo expected to reach a high of 90°F before plunging to just 58°F on Sunday. Abilene will experience a similar shift, with Saturday’s high forecasted at 91°F before cooling to 56°F.

Temperatures will be 20 to 25 degrees above normal for much of the week, with near-record highs possible in both cities. San Angelo’s forecasted highs include 79°F Wednesday, 85°F Thursday, and 84°F Friday. Some records dating back over 100 years may be challenged before the cold front arrives.

Winds will range from 5 to 15 mph throughout the week, with gusts up to 25 mph. Patchy fog is expected early Wednesday, but skies will clear as the day progresses.
