Rainbow Trout Stocking Continues in San Angelo Waters

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – Rainbow trout were recently stocked in the Concho River in downtown San Angelo by the Inland Fisheries San Angelo District, part of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

The stocking program, aimed at enhancing fishing opportunities for local anglers, will conclude for the winter season with a final trout release scheduled for February 21, 2025.

The San Angelo district’s trout stocking schedule includes several locations, with a total of 25,440 rainbow trout set to be distributed this winter.

San Angelo sites include Oakes Street, which has already received 1,992 trout and is set for a final stocking of 664 fish next month, and Foster Park, which has been stocked with 1,600 trout over two installments. Additional nearby locations, such as Javalina Draw at San Angelo State Park, have also seen stocking efforts, with 500 trout released so far.

Other communities benefiting from the stocking include Andrews, Bronte, Monahans, and Midland, among others.
