Bitter Cold in San Angelo Early This Week

SAN ANGELO, TX — The National Weather Service forecasts a week of frigid temperatures in the Concho Valley, with wind chills dropping into single digits and a chance of snow on Monday night.

Wind chill values are expected to range between 5°F and 9°F on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Bitterly cold conditions will persist throughout the week, with low temperatures in the teens and highs struggling to surpass the 40s.

A weather system moving across the state may bring a 30% chance of light snow Monday night, particularly after midnight. Accumulations are most likely in the northwest Hill Country, where snowfall amounts could approach one inch. The probability of San Angelo seeing snowfall exceeding one inch is low, at around 12%, according to the latest projections.

Daytime highs are forecast to remain near 37°F on Sunday and increase slightly to 42°F on Monday, with overnight lows plunging into the lower 20s. East and northeast winds at 10 mph, with gusts reaching 20 mph, will exacerbate the already frigid conditions.

The National Weather Service highlighted the potential for minor travel disruptions across parts of the Hill Country.
