SAN ANGELO, TX – Residents in San Angelo may wake up to a brief light snow shower early Friday morning before precipitation clears by late morning, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures will remain chilly, with highs reaching the low 40s Friday as the region begins to thaw from the wintry conditions.
On Thursday, freezing rain and sleet swept through parts of West Central Texas, including the Big Country and Northwest Hill Country. Snow showers are expected to continue into the evening, particularly in the Heartland, with accumulations of 0.5 to 1 inch possible on elevated surfaces like bridges and overpasses. Roads may stay slick in spots, making travel hazardous through tonight.
Colder air will dominate the weekend, with lows expected to dip into the teens and low 20s by Saturday morning. Daytime temperatures will gradually warm into the 40s and 50s starting Saturday and continue through next week, signaling a slow thaw.
