Cold Front to Bring Temperature Drop Next Week

SAN ANGELO, TX - West central Texas is set to experience a weather shift as a strong cold front moves through the area on Sunday, bringing freezing temperatures and potentially winter-like conditions early next week, according to the National Weather Service in San Angelo.

Temperatures will remain above normal through Saturday, with highs reaching the upper 60s to lower 70s. However, the cold front will drop temperatures significantly, with highs expected to range from the upper 30s to mid-40s and lows plunging into the 20s by Monday and Tuesday.

San Angelo could see a high of 49 degrees on Monday and a low near 26 degrees by Tuesday morning.

Forecasters are monitoring the potential for winter weather as the cold air settles in. While confidence in below-normal temperatures is high, uncertainty remains about the exact severity and potential precipitation.

The likelihood of measurable snow or ice is currently low to moderate, with chances of precipitation estimated at 30%.

Today’s forecast calls for sunny skies with highs in the upper 60s to lower 70s and light southwest winds at 5 to 10 mph.
