SAN ANGELO, TX – A cold front sweeping through the region Wednesday morning is bringing cooler, breezy conditions and a drop in temperatures, according to the National Weather Service in San Angelo.
Wind chills in the Big Country dipped to the mid-30s early Wednesday, with afternoon highs expected to reach the mid-50s to lower 60s. North winds of 15 to 20 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph, will make for a brisk day. Light morning showers are possible in southeastern counties, but skies will clear in the afternoon.
Temperatures will fall further overnight, with below-freezing conditions expected Thursday morning. Lows will dip into the upper 20s and low 30s across the area. Despite the frigid start, the region will warm up through the weekend, with highs climbing back into the 60s and 70s.
Forecast highs for San Angelo include 59 degrees Wednesday, increasing to 67 degrees by Saturday, while lows are expected to reach 30 degrees Thursday morning before gradually rising.
